Candice Frankland, founder of the award-winning Phoenix Belly Dance in New Zealand, is an international teacher, winner of Jillina’s Belly Dance Evolution’s casting competition, she scored lead roles in the BDE Sydney Australia tours, and also landed a lead role in BellyQueen’s Silk Road’s Australian Tour.
She has also led her troupe to win the Jambalaya Dance Competition, Viva Eclektika Asia Vision Cup, and the prestigious title NZ Corporate Event’s: Best Entertainment Company.
Candice is very well known in the local New Zealand and Australian dance communities as a kind and knowledgeable teacher as well as a source of innovation for her performances and ways of bringing the community together.
Candice is recognised in the international belly dance community as an inspiration for how to lead supportive gatherings to strengthen and develop a sense of belonging and encouragement amongst professional dancers as well as students. It is this commitment to community that makes Candice’s events, retreats, and tours so memorable for attendees and the international artists she hosts.
Candice wears the hat of event producer too, hosting top international teachers, running retreats, dance tours to the Middle East, and festivals. Her goals are to uplift and support the dance community in New Zealand, collaborate with like-minded artists locally and internationally, educate the public, and produce modern artistic concepts while preserving the integrity and roots of the dance.
