Fahtiem

Fahtiem is a multi-award winning choreographer, master instructor, and international superstar performer. Highly renowned in the world of Middle Eastern dance for her magical style and elegance, this world class performer and instructor has traveled both nationally and internationally to grace the stages of festivals, nightclubs, restaurants, and private events. Fahtiem has performed in countless countries including engagements on cruise ships, music videos, and performances on cable and network television. She was most recently honored to be included in The Fez Documentary (2019) and American Belly Dance Icons (2020) and has released her own DVD series, Bellydance Bootcamp, as well as three Middle Easern Dance albums highlighting her vocal talents. Of particular note was her performance at Carnegie Hall as the headlining dancer and choreographer featuring the live musical stylings of Phil Kanakis.

Fahtiem majored in Education at Monmouth University in New Jersey and has since furthered her professional development with several certificates such as Graduate of Masters Course, New York, 1991-1995 produced by lbrahim Farrah and Graduate of Master Communications and Mind in Business courses, produced by Summit Workshops. These certifications have allowed her to branch outside of the dance world as she is trained to provide personal counseling and coaching. They are also part of what makes her such an exceptional teacher as she employs the techniques she has learned to connect with and deeply understand the needs of her students.

She is the producer and director of the acclaimed annual stage production and convention Oasis Dance Magic. Listed in International Who’s Who of Professional Business Women, she is very much revered in her field and has been nominated for and won a multitude of awards and honors including:

She has considered it a privilege to teach worldwide throughout her extensive travels. In years prior, she has hosted international dance study tours and workshops and been invited as the featured artist and teacher for festivals in England, Belgium, Israel, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Mexico, Morocco, a three city tour of China, and Japan–where she is known as the grandmother of bellydance. She has also served as an adjudicator for numerous regional and international Belly Dance competitions. When not travelling, Fahtiem maintains a full teaching schedule in the Los Angeles area, offering classes seven days a week at both the collegiate and community environments as well as private lessons in her home studio.
